Where: Hillcrest Landmark Theater at 3965 5th Avenue in San Diego (Village Hillcrest Plaza 2nd level), just north of University Avenue Park underground in building (enter on 5th Avenue 1/2 block north of University, east side of street) Parking is free for the theater and meeting afterwards (get ticket validated after seeing movie at concession stand)

Discuss the film, catch up on what's been happening in the Prius world, talk about our cars, dealer experiences, 2006 versus earlier models, etc.

Sev updated the club on HOV stickers (there are only 5,000 left), the tax credit (Sept. 30 last day for full) prices and packages available in Australia, where he and Julia vacationed and met a few of the 2500 Prius owners in Australia. The Prius is much more difficult to buy in Austrialia with a 7 month waiting list and costing approximately $6,000 more than the U.S. Only package #1 and #8 2006 are available in Australia. Toyota US president Jim Press announced Toyota to pursue plug-ins and ethanol. Dave Hermance will address that at the next meeting.

Two members attended the EV conversion class at San Miguel High School this past summer. Abran Quevedo, the instructor, was there to tell us about the class and EV conversions.

On July 20 the Tesla was unveiled. This $100,000 EV sports car will be available to order starting January 1, 2007. Read more about it HERE.
